Churches
We've been here for 4 Sundays already, and we've been to 4 different churches. Each has been a Church of England (there's not much else around here), but they've all been incredibly different. Two were super traditional (very formal service, organ music, clouds of incense swung around in a procession), and the other two were reminiscent of a Midwestern megachurch (full band with drums, lots of singing about Jesus and no gospel readings). Both have their draws, but neither is what we're looking for. We've sort of liked the traditional ones better, but they seem to have about a dozen members in attendance each week, whereas the megachurch types have a couple hundred people each week. It will be interesting to see where we'll end up

Thats interesting about the large interst in mega-churches in england. Like you said, sounds a little like the midwestern united states movement towards mega churches.
What kind of church are you looking for?

hmm... 9PM your time is 2AM my time, so I don't think that'll work for me!
ok. Then on a weekend is probably a better time to call.
I have been going to a baptist church that I think is pretty good. Its a pretty big church with 1300 people at Sunday services. There is a lot going on..so you can find your own group which is pretty cool.
Have you heard of Eckhart Tolle? I read some of his books and he is pretty good. I have just started reading Joel Osteen. He is the mega church pastor from texas. He is #1 on NY times Bestseller List.Have you read of listened to Joel Osteen? He has 40,000 people each week at his services. I figure he must be good if that many people listen to him.
